The company designs, manufactures and markets construction and mining machinery, off-highway diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives, operating through Construction Industries, Resource Industries and Power & Energy segments along with a Financial Products segment that provides financing and insurance. Customers include contractors, mining operators, oil and gas, marine, rail, power generation and industrial equipment users, as well as dealers who purchase inventory and equipment for resale. Products are sold and serviced through a worldwide network of independently owned dealers and distributors, supplemented by direct sales forces for certain products such as turbines and locomotives, with operations and sales spanning North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia/Pacific.
